The green and red curving lines are moving up and down on the screen leading me across the stock graph. People are focused on the stock graph and analyze it to think about when they are going to buy and sell shares. I first learned about the career of a market trader through news programming. When I participated in the Job Readiness for English Language Learners (JRELL) program at Community Youth Center, they provided me with an opportunity to explore the finance field which helped me develop a deeper sense of the career I was interested in. On discovering this market trading career through JRELL, I realized I want to study finance.
I started finding out more and looked online. In the introductory videos, I saw traders on the phone asking for bid-ask quotes to decide whether to keep the stock or sell it within seconds. I am fascinated with these powerful, rapid decision-making skills. During my academic path, I found that I have more interest in math compared to other subjects. Even though I faced difficulties in learning math, I always persisted in finding solutions. I am excited to pursue my interest in business during college to know better about our economic system and figure out how we can help more nonprofit organizations in our community to push our society to move forward.
I am honored to be awarded the Ramina’s Memorial Scholarship, as it has had a profound impact on my academic journey. The first year of college was tough, but thanks to this scholarship, I can stay focused on my studies without worry about the financial stress. This financial support has not only reduce my stress but has also give me the opportunity to participant in additional opportunities, such as participating in finance clubs and doing internships to enrich my learning experience. Being part of this RMC community has been invaluable, and I hope to continue contributing and growing within it. This scholarship has truly made a difference in my college life, allowing me to thrive academically and personally. I am so grateful for the support from Ramina’s Memorial Cooperation.
